Vitor Belfort has moved quickly to respond to Sam Alvey’s challenge and his response came with a threat.
Alvey won a split-decision over Rashad Evans at UFC Fight Night 114 on Saturday night and immediately called for a showdown with Vitor Belfort claiming he wants to get revenge on every fighter who had defeated his friend, teammate and mentor, Dan Henderson.
“The Phenom” took his Instagram account to accept the challenge and sent a message to the Wisconsin native:
@smilensam let's fight in Vegas. You are gonna make history: You Will be the 1st man to get knockdown with a smile on the face 😂 @ufc Just send me the bout agreement // @smilensam vamos lutar em Vegas. Você vai fazer história: Você será o 1o homem a ser nocauteado com um sorriso no rosto 😂 @ufc pode mandar o contrato #mma #teambelfort #belfortteam #ufc
Alvey then responded to Belfort’s threat later that evening and said that the Brazilian could pick the time and the place. He cheekily also suggested that the picture Belfort had used for his original response was over 11-years-old.
you're my senior, it's only right you pick your burial grounds. great pic btw, its from 2006, right? @ufc

Belfort, a former UFC light heavyweight champion, is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Nate Marquardt at UFC 212 and has previously mentioned that he wants a fight in Las Vegas.
One possible date could be UFC 216, scheduled for October 7 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Later dates in Las Vegas include December 1 for the TUF Finale and UFC 219 set for December 30.
