Two new bouts are being targeted for UFC Fight Night Gdansk on October 21 and they include two newcomers to the UFC.
The two bouts were reported by MMANews.pl this morning and the first see’s the rescheduling of a scrapped bout from UFC 214, Adam Wieczorek vs. Dmitry Smolyakov.
The fight was expected to take place two weeks ago in Anaheim, California, but following an injury to Smolyakov, the fight was postponed at short notice. Wieczorek (8-1) comes into the bout on a seven fight win streak and has finished all of his wins wins inside the distance.
Smolyakov (8-2) was unbeaten before entering the UFC but has since lost twice to Luis Henrique and Cyril Asker. The Russian now has one last shot to make some moves in the UFC when he takes on the debuting Pole.
The other fight, reported first by MMA-Today.com, is a middleweight bout featuring Ramazan Emmev and Trevor Smith.
Emmev (15-3) has won four fights in a row in Russia and is a former middleweight M-1 Challenge Champion.
The Russian will reportedly take on Smith (15-7) who will be taking his tenth fight under the UFC banner. Smith’s record includes wins over Brian Houston, Tor Troeing, Dan Miller, Jow Giglotti and Chris Camozzi. The losses on his record are to Andrew Sanchez, Caio Magalhaes, Thales Leites and Ed Herman.
Ticket prices have also been announced and will range from 89PLN (£18.95) to 1199PLN (£225.32). Tickets go on sale this week August 9 (UFC Fight Club), August 10 (UFC Social) and August 11 (General Sale)
