The new interim UFC lightweight champion Tony Ferguson made it perfectly clear to the world that he wants to fight one man and one man only in his next fight — Conor McGregor.

Ferguson defeated Kevin Lee via a triangle submission in the third round at the T-Mobile Arena last evening and he wasted little time taking a shot at the Irishman:

“You better come and f***ing defend that belt,” Ferguson said in Octagon immediately after his fight. “Defend or vacate.”

He then continued his campaign in the post-fight press conference:

“I’ll slam him on the ground and finish him with a D’Arce choke or any choke I might please,” Ferguson said. “The boy is scared. He can’t run any more.”

Well there’s a chance that Ferguson may get his wish.

UFC President Dana White told reporters after the event that McGregor had told him that he’d like to fight again before 2018.

“He wants to fight again this year,” White said. “He went and partied in Ibiza for a while, he went back home for a while and you’ve got to let him blow off some steam and we’ll figure it out.”

It’s now all eyes on McGregor to see if he will alnowledge Ferguson’s win last evening.
