UK MMA fans aren’t the happiest Bellator MMA right now, but this news might cheer them up a little bit.

Bellator MMA President Scott Coker told excluisively yesterday that he ‘guarantees’ that Michael ‘Venom’ Page and Paul Daley will fight in the first quarter of 2018.

Speaking yesterday after the pre-fight press conference Coker explained that the plans for Bellator returning to the English capital later this year were off the table, but that fans could expect the long awaited welterweight clash to go ahead in 2018.

“No I don’t believe so,” Coker said, when asked about a potential September show. “I think we’re probably going to fight there once a year with a big tentpole [event]. But you saw what happened, the aftermath of that thing with [Daley and MVP] and we were thinking of coming back, but we just couldn’t fit it in the schedule for September. But I guarantee you, Paul Daley will fight MVP and it will probably happen in London, sometime in the first quarter of next year.”

Just two weeks ago, MVP took to social media to reveal that he had been offered a fight with Paul Daley in September, but that Daley had allegedly turned the fight down for the third time.

UK MMA fans are still awaiting news on the TV broadcast schedule for Bellator 180 and Bellator NYC. We hope to bring you further news of this later today.
