The worst kept secret in UK MMA is finally official–Scott Askham vs. Luke Barnatt will headline an ACB fight card taking place in Sheffield on September 23.

The two have been going back and forth over social media for the past few weeks and have openly stated that they wish to settle their differences inside the ACB cage.

Askham (14-4) is coming off the back of a two-year UFC run where he went 2-4 in the promotion. His last two defeats against Jack Hermansson and Bradley Scott saw his first UFC run come to an end, but the man from Yorkshire feels he’s far from done yet and win over Barnett would be a big scalp to take on the European scene.

Barnatt (13-4) has won 5 of his last 6 fights with his sole loss coming at the hands of Mamed Khalidov who defeated him back at ACB 57 earlier this year. Since then, Barnatt has bounced back well with a KO victory over Max Nunes last month fighting at light heavyweight. Barnatt now just has one last middleweight fight on his mind and it’s beating Askham in the Sheffield Arena this September.

No other fights for the card have been announced, but ACB also visit Sheffield next Saturday for ACB 65 which will be headlined by Thiago Silva vs. Batraz Agnaev for the ACB light heavyweight title. Brendan Loughnnane will also face Pat “Bam Bam” Healy in the co-main event.
