Hendricks this morning (Photo: Matt Wells)

It’s not been the best of days for Johny Hendricks.

This morning, the former UFC welterweight champion clocked in 2 pounds overweight for his fight tomorrow with Tim Boetsch after he tipped the scales at 188-pounds.

This latest setback for Hendricks comes after multiple issues at welterweight and making 170-pounds. He moved up to middleweight earlier this year and had a successful debut beating Hector Lombard via a unanimous decision.

The fight with Boetsch will still talk place, but Hendricks has been fined 20% of his fight purse. That amount will be paid directly to Tim Boetsch, however, the financial penalty will likely be the last thing on the Texan’s mind.

As you can imagine, there was plenty of reaction to the news this morning. Here is a sample of it.
