He’s just days away from the biggest fight of his life at Bellator 180, but James Gallagher hasn’t forgotten where it all started.
The man from Strabane, Northern Ireland took the time last evening to send a special message home to his fans and teammates ahead of his fight with Chinzo Machida on Saturday night.
Gallagher’s thoughts on Saturday night
“This is the biggest moment of my life. I’m going to soak that up and I can’t wait to go in there and just win and be calm about it and see all those people that have come over here to support me. There’s a strong, strong group that have come out–we’re rolling deep in this one. It’s going to be good and I’m going to go in, focus on this guy and then I’m just going to stand in the middle of that Octagon [*ahem* cage *ahem] and just look around and soak that up. This is going to be a proud moment for me. I’m going to lap it up and I’m going to enjoy every minute of it. I’m going to get that win, bring it back home to Strabane and celebrate with my Dad and everyone there.”
Gallagher’s message back home
“Just thanks for all the support–I’m looking forward to going in there and doing everyone proud. This just kind of gives me that extra little bit and it just fills me with pride. When I’m in the gym with all my teammates and they gearing me on and helping me prepare for this stuff. When I go back to Strabane everyone is just so proud of me and it’s a real nice feeling that I’m just able to go out there and do something that I love and so many people just get behind me. I’m putting my town on the map and I take great pride of representing my town and where I come from. I look forward to going and doing them all proud [on Saturday] and thank them all so much for their support. It’s going to be a good night.”
James Gallagher vs. Chinzo Machida will be the co-main event of Bellator 180 on Saturday night.
