The news we have all been waiting for has finally arrived, James Gallagher will face Jeremiah ‘The Kid’ Labiano at Bellator MMA’s next show in Dublin, Ireland on November 10.
The news was broken by Irish journalist Peter Carroll in the Irish Mirror.
Gallagher (7-0) was expected to move down to bantamweight, but earlier this week he announced on his social media that he would remain at 145-pounds after consulting with his head coach John Kavanagh.
The Irishman was last in action back at Bellator NYC: Sonnen vs. Silva when he defeated Brazilian Chinzo Machida via first round submission. Gallagher will be looking for his fifth win under the Bellator banner come Nov. 10 having already defeated Mike Cutting, Anthony Taylor and Medvedovski in addition to his victory over Machida in June.
Standing in his way of an eighth professional career win will be Labiano. The American has a career record of 11-5 and is currently on a two fight win streak having defeated Vince Murdock and Stephen Cervantes in his last two outings.
Labiano will walk into the cage with an experience advantage and has some recognizable names on his record with a loss UFC veteran Joe Soto and a win over WSOF veteran Tyson Nam.
No other fights have yet been announced for the card, but Gallagher vs. Labiano will serve as the main event in 3 Arena.
