A middleweight bout pitting Gerald Meerschaert vs Eric Spicely is in the works for The Ultimate Fighter Finale in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 1.

Sources close to both camps have confirmed the bout which will see Meerschaert (26-9) take on Spicely (10-2) at the UFC’s first ever show in the Park Theatre.

Meerschaert’s seven fight win streak came to an end in his last fight when he was beaten by Thiago Santos at UFC 213. Prior to that, “GM3” had been on a fantastic run with wins over Matt Logu, Ketih Smetana, Lucas Rota, Sidney Wheeler and Chase Waldon before his call up to the UFC. He then defeated Joe Gigliotti on his debut at UFC Fight Night 102 and then followed up that win by defeating Ryan James at UFC Fight 105 against Canadian Ryan Janes.

The Roufus Sports man will of course be looking to get back into the win column, but in his way on December 1 stands an experienced TUF veteran who has proven his worth in the UFC’s 185-pounds division.

Spicely will also be looking to get back to winning ways having been beaten by Antonio Carlos Jr. in his last bout at UFC 212 in June. Prior to that, Spicely had put his UFC debut defeat behind him with submission wins over Thiago Santos and Alessio Di Chirico.

Both men will be looking to put a marker in the ground on December 1 when they go toe-to-toe on a card scheduled to be headlined by Eddie Alvarez taking on Justin Gaethje.

No other fights have been announced for the card yet.
