Another night of Bellator MMA action is in the books, and King Mo Lawal was able to get revenge on Rampage Jackson, winning the pivotal third round to earn himself a unanimous decision over the former UFC light heavyweight champion, who came in at 253 lbs to Lawal’s 212. Up next for Lawal is a Bellator 180 showdown with new signing Ryan Bader, who will make his debut with the promotion at Madison Square Garden.
In the co-main event, Emmanuel Sanchez got a comfortable win over ex-bantamweight champion Marcos Galvao. Sanchez continues to rise up the ranks of the featherweight division, although missing weight didn’t do him any favors for a title shot.
The rest of the main card featured plenty of good action. Lightweight prospect Steve Kozola slaughtered Jake Roberts in under thirty seconds, featherweight Noad Lahat was dropped by a jab in the opening round, but otherwise easily outgrappled and submitted Lloyd Carter, and Sergei Kharitonov walloped Chase Gormley with a ferocious right uppercut to notch his first Bellator win.
